Ways to Get Involved

Explore the Ways You Can Get Involved

We believe families are essential partners in the work we do. By creating meaningful opportunities for families to get involved we strengthen connections, build trust, and ensure that our efforts reflect the real needs of those we serve. When families have a voice and a role in shaping early childhood experiences, the entire community grows stronger.

Here are some ways you can get involved:

  • Join our Family Council
  • Join one of our Facebook group communities
  • Sign up for our Family Newsletter
  • or participate in our advocacy efforts

What is the Foundation First Family Council?

The Foundation First Family Council gives families a chance to share their ideas and help shape early childhood decisions that matter to them. Families can connect with others in the region, speak up about their needs and concerns, and learn about helpful community resources.

Through monthly virtual meetings, families can connect with each other and have their voices heard and valued!

Advocacy (VPP/SCAN)

Virginia Promise Partnership – Virginia Promise Partnership The Virginia Promise Partnership is a coalition of leading organizations working together to achieve our bold goal of ensuring all Virginia families have access to affordable, quality child care by 2030.

The Virginia Promise Partnership is a proud supporter of the Gotta Have Child Care campaign.

Virginia’s economy, workforce competitiveness, and rank as top in the nation for business depend on hardworking families being able to access quality, affordable child care. Virginia has come a long way, but there is more to be done to fulfill the promise of school-ready children, work-ready families and business-ready communities in Virginia.

Save the Children Action Network: Save the Children Action Network: Securing Wins for Kids Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) is Save the Children’s political advocacy arm, created in 2014 to be the political voice for kids. Through a combination of grassroots activism, compelling messaging and candidate engagement, we build relationships with policymakers to increase investments in expanding access to early childhood education, preventing child hunger in the U.S and globally and protecting children around the world from harm in times of crisis.
